Happy Fanboy Time!

So, I just got an e-mail from Eddy Webb at White Wolf asking if I had
any experience writing for role playing games. I have already
responded, detailing what rpg projects I am working on, as I have no
experience outside of playing and running campaigns. I cannot imagine
them writing me back after reading my short sample if they did not
have any interest, or did not see some sort of potential. It was not
my best work, but it was decent work, and I did the sample in 3 days,
as I felt it was more important to get something in by a deadline than
craft something over months. Still, it had some interesting bits.

Still, I am very excited. I really want the chance to work in the
gaming field, and getting a response after sending in a sample is very
validating, even if it was not my best. Gaming is slowly becoming a
respected art, and I want to help bring it their. If I ever do get a
semi-decent job, I am going to save up enough to get a professor to
write a literary criticism of a game. I think that would help elevate
gaming in the eyes of the general populace, much in the way that the
Pulitzer that Maus received did for comics.

Of course, it would help if video game movies didn't suck. I mean,
Wing Commander? The games already had fantastic and intricate plots.
They didn't even need to write a new one, and they killed it in the
movie. It could have been great.

And don't get me started on Resident Evil, or the D&D movie.

In any event, it is very nice to receive some interest and to get
people talking to me. Even if I do not get any work now, it is nice to
have some recognition, no matter how slight, as, once again, I cannot
imagine getting a response if Mr. Webb did not see some potential there.
